Erin L. Shea is an associate attorney at Surprenant & Beneski, P.C. She focuses her practice, as does the firm, in the areas of Medicaid planning, elder law, estate planning and special needs planning. She is a member of the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (MassNAELA) and serves on the Human Rights Committee of Comprehensive Mental Health Systems in Dartmouth, MA. She has educated attorneys and the public as a speaker on Elder Law issues.
Earning her Juris Doctor, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts School of Law – Dartmouth, where she received distinction including being chosen as a Bristol County Bar Association Scholarship Award recipient and being named as a Dean’s Fellow. As a law student, she focused her education in the field of Elder Law and Estate Planning. Prior to her promotion to an associate attorney position, Erin worked for more than 10 years as a case manager for Surprenant & Beneski, P.C.
As an attorney at Surprenant & Beneski, P.C., she exhibits a passion for helping clients reduce the stress and anxiety associated with a loved one becoming ill, for protecting assets from the cost of long term care, for tackling estate tax issues, and for protecting children’s inheritances from creditors.
